I left the Airport: Salt Lake City

I’ve been to Salt Lake City so many times that I lost count. However, on this trip, I actually left the airport lol. Due to my business travels and airline preference (Delta), whenever I had to go to the west coast, I had a connection through Salt Lake City (SLC). I would always admire the mountains as we approach the airport.

For 2018, I vowed that I would actually leave the airport and explore the city and mark off Utah of my list. So here I am!

Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is the capital and largest city in Utah. It became the 45th state admitted to the union on January 4, 1896.

Furthermore, approximately 62% of Utahns are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint or LDS (Mormons), which greatly influences their culture and daily life. The LDS Church’s world headquarters is located in Salt Lake City. Lastly, did you know that Utah is the only state with a majority population belonging to a single church?

My stay in Salt Lake City was short, only for two (2) hours as my entire visit will be Moab. Anywho, enjoy the pictures of the downtown area.

The Salt Lake Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Temple Square.

Well, I am going to tell on myself, before I explored the LDS, I stopped and did a little shopping at City Creek Mall which is a beautiful outside mall in the Downtown area.

While exploring, I noticed that there is Main Street in the Downtown area.

Did you know that there is a Main street in just about every city in the U.S? I always thought it was a sitcom myth.

Hope you enjoyed downtown Salt Lake City. It is time for me to go and pick up my friends at the airport for our 4-hour road trip to Moab.
