We are now in our third country, The Netherlands aka Holland. How could anyone leave Europe without doing at least an overnight stay in Amsterdam? It was a 3-hour train ride from Paris Nord to Amsterdam Centraal. As soon as we arrived at the station, cousin Martha saw some swings on top of a building. All we heard “I wanna do the swing!” She would not be deterred or distracted. Martha was working on convincing the other divas to join. She tried cajoling and bribing. She got two volunteers – Johanna and Marshelle. I am not counting myself because you know I was going to do it.
Amsterdam
Once we checked in, it was time to get on the hop on hop off bus. Once we were on, Martha asked if the swings were on the route. It was on the canal route. Before the swings, let’s enjoy the views of Amsterdam.
A’DAM Lookout
The Lookout is an observation deck that has one of the two “I amsterdam” sign. The cost for the observation deck is €13.50 w/no alcohol and €19.50 for 2 drinks. If you want the swing, it is an additional €5.00.
Prior to going up to the observation deck, there is an opportunity for the photo with I AM sign.
Once you have entered the observation deck, you have another photo op.
Oh, and the view is phenomenal!
Then it was time for Martha to go swinging.
If you are not afraid of heights and you want a little bit of adrenaline, this is definitely a must do in Amsterdam.
If you get a chance and if you decided to trust your travels with me, Amsterdam is a must see and do in spring especially for the flowers (tulips).
