O-M-G, you can’t leave Mexico City without experiencing Lucha Libre! You are probably wondering what is “lucha libre”. It is wrestling! Yep, I went to WrestleMania in Mexico.
When traveling, I always believe that we should do something different. So when my travel buddy suggested attending a wrestling, my initial response was “no”. Then I thought for a minute that I always criticized those who don’t want to try something different. Next thing I knew, the tickets were purchased.
The Essentials
Cost: $39 includes hotel pick up and drop off
Time: 8:00 PM
Duration: 3 hour
The Experience
We were picked up at our hotel at the specified time. During the drive, we receive our tickets, mask, and tequila.
What could possibly go wrong lol
The Event
We arrived at the Arena to a boatload of people trying to get in. Also, there was a strong police presence. Initially, I was hesitant, but it was uneventful. It would be the same experience if I was at a concert in the States.
Next was finding our seats which we needed help from an usher. Of course, said usher demanded a tip 👀😳
After getting to our seats, it was time to watch WrestleMania.
During the event, I did do the selfie with my mask. Of course, I got photobombed.
My travel buddies love it, but it was not my cup of tea. I was bored. Would I do it again? No! Is it an experience I will remember? Yes!
Lastly, don’t always so no until you experience it. You never know if you will like it. My travel buddies loved it. Two out of three ain’t bad!
