So after the Lower Antelope Canyon, the tour took us to Horseshoe Bend. It is about a 1.5 miles (roundtrip) hike to the bend. The best news is I am getting used to hiking (inclines). If you recall, I live in South Florida and it is very flat.
The views of horseshoe bend are remarkable and it is worth the trip to Arizona. The name comes from the fact that the view looks like a horseshoe. “The overlook is 4,200 feet (1,300 m) above sea level, and the Colorado River is at 3,200 feet (980 m) above sea level, making it a 1,000-foot (300 m) drop.” Even better news, I am not afraid of heights, but I do respect the distance between me and the cliffs.
