The third stop of my day tour of French Riviera was Cannes. The resort city is about 25 miles southwest of Nice. Named for the “canes of its once-reedy shore, it was settled by Ligurian tribesmen and occupied successively by Phocaeans, Celts (or Gauls), and Romans“. Cannes main source of revenue is tourism. It is also famous for their international film festival which is held annually in May.
Even though my time in Cannes was extremely brief, we were able to see the famed auditorium of the international film festival, observe the beach life, admire the yachts, and walk on the boardwalk.
Oh, I did have an opportunity to walk the red carpet 😁
Onto my next stop……
