Oh…the seafood is so good

When I first arrived in New Zealand, I was not impressed with the food. I pretty much ate once a day and hopefully I would sleep away my hunger (lol). Since arriving to Dunedin and finding out that the city is very close to the harbour (see video from yesterday), I am loving the seafood and oh so fresh. So last night, I ordered a seafood platter from The Captain Cook Tavern and a side salad (thinking the platter may not be enough). Well, I received an awakening. The seafood platter consisted of: mussels, cockles (still trying to figure that out), Queen Scallops in its shell, sole paupittes (still don’t know), salmon , prawn, squid, blue cod, and rod wings (still don’t know). The salmon was the sushi version. I like mine cooked so I didn’t taste it.

When I tell you I enjoyed a meal. Yummy and real good!! I made it back to my hotel and passed out. Shhh….I did have a couple of glasses of wine with my meal. If you make it to New Zealand and especially Dunedin or any of the Otago area, check out the Captain Cook Tavern.

June 3rd dinner is the monk fish with prawns and sweet potato puree. I am supposed to try the lamb in New Zealand but I am so into the seafood. Solo dining at the Alibi Bar and Restaurant in Dunedin New Zealand
